Event Recap: thisisneverthat x Converse Customization Workshop

On Saturday, October 30, Bodega LA hosted a release party to commemorate thisisneverthat’s first ever collaboration with Converse.

Based on “new vintage-” inspired designs heavily rooted in the casual cool, well-worn look of the 1990s, the South Korea streetwear stalwarts at thisisneverthat presented a capsule collection of retro-styled apparel and accessories, highlighted by their reinterpretation of two classic silhouettes— the Chuck Taylor and the One Star Ox.

Available here first, patrons were able to purchase the items onsite, a week before the rest of the world. Building an outdoor activation, Bodega built wooden cubes to highlight the collection while local screen printing greats Emiliano and Omar from Ginga Prints set up an interactive space for attendees to choose from an array of graphics and screenprint their favorite designs on t-shirts by Premier Laundry.

With the complementing styles of each entity involved, the event was filled with positive energy and great food from Love Hour LA. Owned by Mike Pak, also the founder of Koreatown Run Club, their name speaks for itself and the community that they’ve built mirrors that vibe. They put smiles on the faces of everyone who was able to enjoy a burger, fries and or onion rings.

Thank you to everyone who came out to show love and participate in the successful event.
