It’s impressive enough to be an innovator in your field, but it’s another level entirely when you practically invent a new field on your own. Hajime Sorayama was, by no means, the first artist to portray the female form, but his hyper realistic, feminine, biomechanical, humanoid robots redefined the genre.
Sorayama has paired up with pioneering streetwear label X-Large, on a series of t-shirts featuring the artist’s signature, robo-erotic realism. A design featuring one of Sorayama’s trademark robots, and one design featuring a Soarayamaized version of the X-Large gorilla mascot look like some long, lost VHS covers for the best cult sci-fi that you’ve ever seen.
