Back in 2006, Sneaker Freaker’s first foray into the collaborative sneaker business took place courtesy of Lacoste. Their shoe of choice was the Missouri, a 1980s i cross training silhouette made with an air of refined leisure about it. The 2006 collaboration sported a teal, grey, black, and white colorway that was so perfectly 80s, it should have come with a white pair of short shorts, and possibly a blonde mullet.
Here we are in 2015, and Sneaker Freaker are getting another crack at this classic silhouette. If Sneaker Freaker’s first go at the Missouri paid tribute to Lacoste’s background in legitimate tennis accomplishments, the new model is a living tribute to Lacoste’s status as an icon of leisure.
The mixture of premium nubuck suede with a cornflower blue and grey colorway, featuring flashes of vivid pink and satin lining, makes the Missouri the perfect shoe to have on when cross training is a walk along the beach and drinks at the hotel instead of bench presses and interval sprints.
