It’s no stretch of the imagination, by any means, to call the Adidas Campus an essential offer from the brand with the three stripes. Originally bound for the basketball court, the combination of a suede upper and timeless, low top silhouette, along with some timely album cover endorsements from pop culture heavyweights like the Beastie Boys, helped make the Campus a fixture alongside other heavyweights like the Samba, Superstar, Stan Smith, and Gazelle.
A collaborative effort with Japanese luggage virtuosos Porter highlights the aesthetic versatility of the Campus by combining a premium nubuck version of the shoe’s familiar suede upper with Porter’s stylish and durable “Tanker” fabric. Porter’s signature black and orange livery, along with discerningly applied co-branding completes the adaptive, modern interpretation of this Adidas classic.
Two of Porter’s popular bag designs, the 3Way Briefcase and 2way Boston Bag also received the collaborative treatment. The orange and black palette serves as the base for a padded nylon construction inspired by the classic flight jacket.
