The New Balance Rainier trail shoe and its innovative mix of lightweight running shoe technology and the specific performance demands of an outdoor boot, made waves upon its introduction in 1982.
With winter just around the corner, the Rainier is out of the archive and ready for the city streets, as well as the nature trails, courtesy of Norse Projects and New Balance.
Although the Scandinavian design principles of simplicity and functionality are obviously present in elements like the Vibram sole, boot lace loops, and weather resistant Gore-Tex membrane, Norse Projects’ home country of Denmark also provides the visual cues.
The respective beige and navy colorways are inspired by the often overcast costal scenery of Denmark in winter.
If a size is not listed, it is sold out.
