Glasnost, perestroika, and the eventual dissolution of the Soviet Union had far reaching, world altering implications on a geopolitical, historical scale. In terms of buying stuff, it meant Russia was open for business. Coincidentally, this era was also the golden age of Reebok.
It’s no surprise that this era of new possibilities and bright colors served as the inspiration for Russia based sneaker retailer Fott and their take on the Reebok Ventilator. It has to be said that Fott and Reebok nailed this recreation; this shoe legitimately looks like it was made twenty-five years ago. The white and grey base with blue and neon green accents alone is enough to get ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ pumping through your head, but what really makes this Ventilator is the materials.
To say suede and nylon sounds like a description of thousands of sneakers, but that’s exactly the point. These materials are so, absolutely true to the original, you’ll feel incomplete without a matching windbreaker and a stack of cassingles.
