Kenrick Lamar returns with another take on a Reebok classic. The Los Angeles rapper continues the visual theme of his previous releases, neutrality between the vivid contrast between red and blue.
With input from Garbstore designer Ian Paley, the latest KL branded effort takes a more visually literal approach to this messaging, with a progressive, deconstructed look. The grey colorway with red and blue accents remains in place, but a visible seam running from the toebox to the tongue serves a physical barrier between the red and blue portions of the shoe.
As a design element not normally seen on a sneaker, the seam serves a reminder that some divisions, as prominent as they are, are entirely man-made.
