Born in Juarez, Mexico, and raised in Dallas, Texas, Marka27’s foray into the art world began in the city’s streets mastering the art of graffiti. Marka27 became a household name for his “audio canvas” series and elaborately executed installation art and murals.
Marka27's Neo Indigenous artwork has been exhibited through out the east and west coast such as, Gallery 1988, Think Space, La Luz de Jesus, The Mills Gallery Boston, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. His artwork has been shown along side established artists, Futura, David Choe, Ron English and Gary Baseman.
Just last month he completed murals in Detroit and a seven story mural for Pow Wow in Worcester while opening a solo show at Lot F. He's the hardest working man in showbiz(peace to James Brown) and Bodega has been lucky enough to have him as a friend and collaborator.
Please note this jacket(Mens Size XL) is a handmade one of one created specifically for the Bodega 10 year anniversary art show Series_. It comes with a hand numbered zine (1/200) . The arms and back panel is painted and should be treated with care. The shoulder left arm have utilize traditional indigenous fabrics.
