A cursory reading of history demonstrates that if you plan on getting away with crime in America, it should involve massive amounts of money and, preferably, a nice suit.

Unfortunately, for noted street artists Utah and Ether, graffiti does not fall into this category, so their 2009 arrests resulted in very real jail time and significant monetary fines. Released under the cloud of probation, the pair permanently fled the country in 2011, making for the numerous, vast, urban environments the continent of Asia has to offer.

To leave behind your country of origin to pursue your legally actionable muse on the other side of the world is, to say the least, an unconventional adventure. Probation Vacation tells the artistic and personal story of Utah and Ether’s unique five-year journey across Asia.
