All too often, choosing footwear for the worst weather that autumn and winter have to offer is a tradeoff: style for functionality. That’s not to say that the traditional boot styles for inclement weather don’t have their own charm, but if you’re looking for something that’s a bit more contemporary and athletic, you’re out of luck.
Nike’s 2016 Sneakerboot collection aims to rectify this situation. The Sneakerboot concept takes familiar Nike models, and reworks them with an eye towards weather performance technology like waterproof fabrics and extra traction soles, resulting in sleek, modern, shoes that also keep bad weather at bay.
The latest Sneakerboot release features the debut of a moisture resistant Flyknit, making the current batch of silhouettes the most modern expression of the Sneakerboot project yet.
