Disenchanted always seemed like the wrong word for these kind of situations. It implied that there were ideals involved, like some old fashioned scientist who thinks he’s going to provide cheap, reliable energy and finds out that he’s been working on the atomic bomb all along, and can’t live with the fact. But when someone falls from the grace of those glass and steel towers, it’s because they feel slighted. Then they come to people like us, and explain how to undo everything they worked on in there. They are, of course, compensated for their troubles.
