Karhu is, through and through, a runner’s brand. No surprises then that even the brand’s special releases are tied back to the Finnish bear’s legacy of serious performance footwear for dedicated athletes.
The new “Track and Field” pack pays tribute to running surfaces around the world, with fashionable takes on two classic 1990s silhouettes, the Aria and the Fusion 2.0
The Aria is available in two colorways, both featuring lush, suede, color blocked uppers. The burnt ochre/Mykonos blue references the most commonly found track surfaces around the world, while the blue toebox borrows from the blue athletic surface of Drake University, home of landmark American track and field event, the Drake Relays. The junebug/green sulphur model takes its visual cues from the University of California Berkeley, which sports a yellow track around a verdant, green field.
The Fusion 2.0 opts for a leather and mesh, with suede accents construction, and a muted palette, as the neutral, grey heavy design is a throwback to the days of cinder surfaces, which were usually grey, with white chalk lines.
If a size is not listed, it is sold out.
