The inspiration for the Air Jordan 11 Low IE has a strikingly simple origin story. With a new edition of the 1995-96 Jordan model being produced for the NBA playoffs, the stand out feature of the 11’s design, glossy patent leather was rendered impractical for the warmer temperatures of mid to late spring, so Tinker Hatfield literally went back to the drawing board.
The end product saw the original construction reworked with a lighter build, featuring a leather upper with mesh ventilation panels. The makeover has remained a cult favorite among dedicated Jordan enthusiasts over the years, but the latest reinterpretation of the Jordan 11, featuring tonal uppers decked out in some of the most vibrant shades in Nike’s arsenal, accompanied by an overlays in one of the most popular Jordan design features, grey elephant print, should grab the attention of people just passing by as well.
